Today the Senate voted to condemn MoveOn.org for their scathing ad against General Petraeus that was printed in last week's NY Times. No matter your opinion on the ad, wouldn't you think our elected officials had bigger things to worry about? Like the war, the collapse of the sub-prime mortgage market, increasing bankruptcies, 40 million of us who don't have health care?
I just don't get these people. Do they ever poke their heads out of the foxhole and say "Whoa. Will you look at that!"?

Unfortunately it shows that Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and Co. still have a lot of clout. And the Senate turned down a a more even-handed resolution which mentioned "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" and other right-wing ad campaigns along with MoveOn. Sadly, my Democratic Senator, Evan Bayh, voted with the majority on the anti-MoveOn resolution.
I note now that a legislator from Virgina wants to waste Congress' time by having an official investigation into the ad and the NY Times involvement in the placement of the ad.
Fiddling while Rome burns again...
